Every child develops at their own pace, and parents don’t have to navigate those early years alone.
Through The Basics of Indian River County, parents and caregivers learn simple, science-based practices that support children’s development from birth to age 5.
Join other parents and caregivers to learn how everyday interactions can help your child reach important developmental milestones and build the skills they need for school and life.
The Learning Alliance’s Lullaby Project, a project of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, pairs new and expecting parents and caregivers with professional artists to create and sing a personal lullaby for their baby.
Through music and songwriting, families have a meaningful opportunity to connect, express their hopes for their child, and celebrate the bond between parent and baby. The experience supports caregiver well-being and early childhood development while creating a lasting keepsake for families.
Reading a book. Singing a song. Talking about what you see. Playing together.
These everyday moments help young children build language, vocabulary, curiosity, and the foundation for learning to read.
You don’t have to be a teacher to be your child’s first teacher.
