January Update from TLA

January 18, 2021

Dear Friends of TLA,

Happy New Year to you all! I wanted to take the time to commend our school district on how gracefully they are handling the recent surge in COVID cases these last few weeks. In the face of teacher and student absences, the district has brought all hands on deck to keep classrooms and schools open by filling in for teachers when a substitute is not available and ensuring that students do not fall behind. This district-wide team effort is a true demonstration of resilience and desire to do what it takes to recover the best they can from this ongoing pandemic.

While the school district is doing everything in their power to make sure students do not fall behind, we must do everything in ours. Your donations to The Learning Alliance allow us to continue our wonderful partnership with the school district, through which we help fund interventionists, literacy coaches, and programs like our Moonshot Academy that are fueled by our mission to get 90% of students reading on grade level by the end of third grade.

We are so grateful for the donations we have received for this year’s annual fund. If you have not yet donated but would like to give and help us continue supporting the school district in this time of crisis, please visit the link below. Thank you so much for supporting our work and partnership with the school district!

Superintendent Spotlight

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Moore, our school district Superintendent, on his recent acknowledgement by the National School Public Relations Association as one of their Top 20 Superintendents to Watch for 2021. This national recognition is an extraordinary accomplishment, and makes us even more proud of our partnership with the school district!
