Each year, our Moonshot Community members participate in the annual “Moonshot Big Read” in conjunction with Jumpstart’s Read for the Record.

It’s not too late to share the fabulous read aloud video of the featured book, AMY WHU AND THE PATCHWORK DRAGON.

We held our MCAN Candidate Forum on 10/15/21 to interview candidates running for open City Council seats in Vero Beach and Sebastian.

October 26, 2021 – The School District of Indian River County Proclamation to Co-Create the 2022 Moonshot FACES Campaign

MCAN Leader and School Board Member, Dr. Peggy Jones, issued a Proclamation with the School Board Leadership to co-create the 2022 “Faces of Early Literacy – Today’s Readers are Tomorrow’s Leaders” campaign with our Moonshot Community Action Network. The campaign is intended to bring awareness and broad support of our Moonshot work as we kickoff this next decade of the Moonshot Literacy Movement!

  • 1/12 – Literacy Services 50-yr Anniversary Event, Brackett Library, 6:00 pm
  • 12/9 – Special Nov/Dec MCAN Event to Kickoff “The Faces of Early Literacy – Today’s Readers are Tomorrow’s Leaders” Campaign (9:00 am at the TEC – in person)
